Full Description: Built by Sir Henry Seymour in 1679, these are the larger of the two almshouses around St. Mary's Churchyeard.
The building is a single storey building with the first floor contained within the roof. A gable is formed in brickwork above each of the nine windows at first floor. The external doorways at ground floor have small pediments above the openings. The window above the porch is also crowned with a pediment. Similar pediments occur at each end of the building on the main gables. The porch, external doorways and windows all have cement rendered surrounds. There are large brick chimney stacks projecting above the roof line. |
