Full Description: Lady Altar at St. Bernard's Convent Chapel. Over the years the chapel has not only been used by the convent and school, but also for the Roman Catholic Community in the area. No more was this so than after the LCC estate at Langley was opened. Before the Holy Family Church held its first mass on 2 February 1957, Langley’s estimated 1,600 Roman Catholics did not have a dedicated church nearer than St. Ethelbert’s in central Slough. Instead congregations met at St. Bermards as well as at a hostel in Colnbrook, the Marish School, and even in houses along Trelawney Avenue. The postcard was "photographed and published by Lofthouse Crosbie & Co., Hampton, Middx".
