Teenage Years

by Rena Adams nee Hobbs

As Londoners we were moved to Slough around the early fifties. I spent my teenage years working at the Slough Trading Estate on various jobs as work was readily available, and enjoyed motor bike rides to the coffee shops and music gigs in nearby Windsor. They were carefree days and are remembered fondly. I was married and widowed there at a young age before emigrating to Australia in 1967 where I have lived ever since. My father Stanley Hobbs named the pub, still at the Britwell Estate "The Jolly Londoner".
