Shops and Sops

We grew up near Iver and Uxbridge in the 1950s and in the summer holidays my mum used to take my sister and I to Slough for a shopping day out, since the shops there were better than Uxbridge. We also went there to get special things and to have a wider choice. The worst thing about it was getting the green line bus, which went a very windy route, and we often had to get off half way because my sister felt sick! Poor mum.
